Ron DeSantis has depended on the Florida State Guard to help with the fallout of Hurricane Milton.
But liberals cannot stand it.
And the Florida State Guard terrifies every big government liberal for one main reason.
FEMA is completely worthless
When a crisis happens, many states are unprepared and are desperate for the federal government to help.
But as the poor people of North Carolina learned from Hurricane Helene, the federal government, including FEMA, is completely worthless.
People in Western North Carolina were trapped in their homes, dying, and when private citizens from around the country rallied together to help, FEMA stopped them.
Unconscionable.
But before Hurricane Milton even struck Florida, DeSantis was clear that Florida “does not rely” on FEMA, Newsweek reported.
Florida’s own state guard is not dependent on the federal government to do anything, and as a result, they are much more effective.
In fact, it was the Florida State Guard who helped in North Carolina, while FEMA lackeys did nothing.
Speaking of FEMA’s failed response to help the people in North Carolina, DeSantis said “So the reality is, I don’t think the federal assets were marshaled very quickly at all. But the lesson that I think people should take from this is one we learned in Florida long ago. We don’t rely on FEMA to do any of that type of activity.”
Florida handles their own
Executive Director of the Florida State Guard Colonel Mark Thieme spoke about the foresight of Governor Ron DeSantis to utilize the talent in Florida to respond to natural disasters both in Florida and elsewhere.
During an interview, when Daniel Horowitz asked Colonel Thieme why the need for a state guard, Thieme nailed it in his response.
“I’ll start with Governor DeSantis’ foresight, one, it’s well documented that there’s an insufficiency of resourcing of the Florida National Guard per capita relative to any other state, and Governor DeSantis foresaw that.”
Thieme also added that Americans continue to flock to Florida due to bad policies in their states and because they like the way DeSantis runs Florida.
And of course, with more people, a greater team is needed to help lead and manage emergency situations.
“We have a booming population that’s a result of very effective governance. A lot of people want to come here because it’s a better place than where they are,” Thieme said.
And with many veterans and ex-military members living in Florida, they are well-equipped and more than capable to prepare for disasters and respond to whatever may come.
Liberals cannot stand it
It is indisputable Ron DeSantis is an effective Governor who knows how to manage people and resources, and the Left hates him for it.
They continue to take cheap potshots at him claiming the Florida State Guard is DeSantis’ own “personal army.”
But the truth is, liberals want people dependent on the federal government.
Period.
They enjoy control and cannot stand it when conservative states find ways to thrive without their intervention.
The Florida National Guard is not going away anytime soon, and big government liberals should take notes and learn from programs and policies that actually work.
