Tim Tebow became one of the legends of college football playing quarterback at Florida.
He is taking on a different challenge now that his playing days are done.
And Tim Tebow went to war against one horrible evil that shocked his fans.
Tim Tebow uses his charity to fight against the horrors of child trafficking
Former University of Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow won two national titles and a Heisman Trophy on his way to a College Football Hall of Fame career.
Tebow began work for the SEC Network as a commentator after his NFL career came to an end.
But his biggest passion these days has nothing to do with the gridiron.
He is using his Tim Tebow Foundation to fight the “horrible evil” of human trafficking and save its victims with his charity’s UnKNOWN and UnFINISHED campaign.
“King Jesus, who has infinite value and worth, went to the cross and was a ransom for me, and was a ransom for you, and it was a ransom for every single person — and gave his life in exchange for us,” Tebow told Faithwire, which covers news from a Christian perspective. “That means that we have infinite value and worth. He paid that price for us.”
Tebow said that his Christian faith required him to help those who are in great need.
“We have to do everything we can to protect them,” Tebow said about child trafficking victims. “To bring them out of this horrible evil and put them in a position where they can flourish, knowing their worth, and their value, and experiencing the faith, hope, and love that so many desperately deserve.”
Tebow helped push a bill to fight child exploitation
The former Heisman Trophy winner went to Capitol Hill earlier this year to support the Renewed Hope Act of 2024 with a bipartisan group of lawmakers.
The bill would increase resources for the Department of Homeland Security to fight child exploitation.
“Our fight is about every single one of those boys and girls who are needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need,” Tebow said about the bill. “The Biblical form of Hope means to look forward with confidence, expectation, and anticipation.”
He told CBN News that he was compelled to fight one of the worst evils on the planet.
“We believe it’s one of the worst evils in the world,” Tebow said. “When you look at the world of trafficking and child exploitation, there’s so many people [whose] lives are at stake, and lives are on the line every single day.”
Tebow warned that the problem was only getting worse.
That is why he could not just sit on the sidelines during this fight.
“How could I live on my timeline knowing that [they have] to handle that one more day?” Tebow asked. “As an image bearer of our creator, as someone that Jesus died for, for me to sit here and to be comfortable while she is so uncomfortable, it should make me agonized; it should put a burden on me.”
Tim Tebow is using the success that football brought him to tackle one of the worst problems in the world.
